When Graeme receives Marie’s e-coaching request he immediately accesses her work on the presentation so far.
When he has read and understood the background materials, he begins by looking at the structure. If structure is right, it can be seen almost instantly.
In this case, Marie has opted for a chronological approach:
Graeme thinks it is simple and logical. It will work of course and no-one would say a word.
Then he goes back to look at Marie’s objectives, in particular, her thoughts on the audience. He finds that the key decision makers she has identified already know most of stages 1 & 2.
When he looks at her online brainstorms he realises that the content is significant and that there are surprises. She has examples and official figures to back up everything. He makes a mental note to discuss some of the examples she has come up with.
He can see the strength of the material and tells her so. The only issue at this stage is to identify a more effective logic which meets the needs of her specific audience.
He asks her to come up with another two possible structures and advises her to look in the online library section, ‘Structure and Logic’ for ideas.
Graeme leaves this message in Marie’s Inbox.
One hour and 15 minutes of eCoaching time have been used.
Inevitably, he later gives a little more thought to the logic of this important presentation.
Poor guy, can’t switch off.
